Animal Ambassadors

I am pretty much the star of the show. I don't wait for people to come up to me... I walk right into the middle of everyone and make sure I get all the attention. I explore everything to make sure that I have made ALL the friends and found ALL the treats.

I am a small African parrot who loves to be held and petted by everyone. Kids especially love me! I can do indoor or outdoor programs. Sometimes I talk, but not always. I have. a "Let's be friends" gesture and if you make it to me, I will always make it back to you!

I am a Colorado native. Some people would consider pigeons to be pests, but I am loved. I fly around, so I am only available for indoor programs. Most people don't get to see a pigeon up close. I have super soft feathers and amazing colors and I don't mind being handled and petted.

We are a group of pet hens. Storm, a black star hen, goes to most programs lately because she runs up to me for "uppies" when I am packing up. I always bring meal worms for the kids to feed her and that is her absolute favorite!

I am a young Burmese Python. I love to be held and petted and never give anyone a hard time.

I am a Colorado native snake who shows everyone how great the wildlife in Colorado is. I have been a part of the team since 2003. I am super calm and everyone can hold me.

I have been a member of the team since Feb 2025. I was full grown at the time and my age is unknown.
Archispirostreptus gigas is native to east Africa and is a detritivore. That means I turn rotting things into soil and am the last step to returning organic matter to dirt. It is super cool to feel the waves of my feet walk across your hand!

I joined the program in summer of 2023, so I still get a little nervous sometimes. But learning how to be an ambassador has been very exciting!

I am a small African Parrot who was raised around children in a loving home. But I didn't have a lot of experience meeting strangers. I do really well as long as my handlers are careful to put me away when I get overwhelmed, which doesn't happen so much any more. I am available for indoor or outdoor programs

Softest rabbit EVER! Born New Year's Eve 2021. I love my job, like to tease the kids a little by hopping out of the way and then coming back for petting.

What has no legs, is covered with scales, and slithers, but is not a snake? ME! I am a European legless lizard called a Sheltopusik (also Scheltopusik). I go to the programs, but I am a little temperamental, so strangers can sometimes pet me, but not hold me. I certainly don't mind being looked at and I am a fascinating creature!

I am the smallest of the three Burmese Pythons. I am very gentle and am doing very well, in spite of having been sick for a long time as a baby. I was hatched in 2023

I am a monitor lizard and people love to touch my beady scales. Often I will flick my long tongue right onto the back of your hand, to get a good sniff. Since I am still new at this, I do best when my new "mom" holds me. But I don't mind being touched and I love being outside, so I can do indoor or outdoor programs.

I am a Rose Hair Tarantula. I like living in Colorado. I like the temperature inside the house and I don't need anything special besides a nice cage and regular care. I am pretty active and I don't mind being held. I have learned to be very gentle with nervous people!

I am a friendly African Grey parrot who often says "Hello" to new friends. I can be held by anyone, but I am usually uncomfortable with being petted. I am available for indoor or outdoor programs and am suitable for all ages.

I am a New World parrot. My kind comes from Mexico and Central America. I fly and talk and do tricks. I am even learning to sing the Star Spangled Banner in front of people! I am a show off, but since I fly, I can't do outdoor shows

I am a checkered giant rabbit, from an accidental litter, born here in Colorado. My birthday is 2 June 2026 and I came to live with the Bird Lady on 26 July 2026. My breed of rabbit is known for being social and gentle and I am an amazing example of that.

I am one of the three burmese pythons who have been handled since a small baby. I am the largest because I had a great start in life. I was hatched spring of 2023.

I am a normal color Ball Python and I like being held. I am not a huge snake, so people can easily hold me. I am super calm and enjoy indoor or outdoor programs as long as it isn't too cold.

I am a Mexican tarantula, native to the Sierra Madre Occidental. I am a docile type of tarantula and have adapted to being handled with no problem. I have been a favorite at Halloween events and proms!
