Animal Ambassadors

I am a small African parrot who loves to be held and petted by everyone. Kids especially love me! I can do indoor or outdoor programs. Sometimes I talk, but not always. I have. a "Let's be friends" gesture and if you make it to me, I will always make it back to you!

I am a Colorado native turtle who never shirks my ambassador duties. Although I am a box turtle, I pretty much never go into my shell... there is too much to see and do!

I am pretty much the star of the show. I don't wait for people to come up to me... I walk right into the middle of everyone and make sure I get all the attention. I explore everything to make sure that I have made ALL the friends and found ALL the treats.

We are young Burmese Pythons. We love to be held and petted and never give anyone a hard time.

I am a large macaw who has just started learning to be a member of the team. I can be held, but have not yet worked up to everyone petting me. I do like to talk to people, but I do it on my time. I can do indoor or outdoor programs.

I joined the program in summer of 2023, so I still get a little nervous sometimes. But learning how to be an ambassador has been very exciting!

I am a New World parrot. My kind comes from Mexico and Central America. I fly and talk and do tricks. I am even learning to sing the Star Spangled Banner in front of people! I am a show off, but since I fly, I can't do outdoor shows

I am a monitor lizard and people love to touch my beady scales. Often I will flick my long tongue right onto the back of your hand, to get a good sniff. Since I am still new at this, I do best when my new "mom" holds me. But I don't mind being touched and I love being outside, so I can do indoor or outdoor programs.

I am a Rose Hair Tarantula. I like living in Colorado. I like the temperature inside the house and I don't need anything special besides a nice cage and regular care. I am pretty active and I don't mind being held, although I don't have a lot of experience with that yet.

We are a group of pet hens. Some of us are too old to lay eggs, but we still enjoy interacting and being held.

I am a Colorado native snake who shows everyone how great the wildlife in Colorado is. I have been a part of the team since 2003. I am super calm and everyone can hold me.

I am a Colorado native. Some people would consider pigeons to be pests, but I am loved. I fly around, so I am only available for indoor programs. Most people don't get to see a pigeon up close. I have super soft feathers and amazing colors and I don't mind being handled and petted.

What has no legs, is covered with scales, and slithers, but is not a snake? ME! I am a European legless lizard called a Sheltopusik (also Scheltopusik). I go to the programs, but I am a little temperamental, so strangers can sometimes pet me, but not hold me. I certainly don't mind being looked at and I am a fascinating creature!

I am a normal color Ball Python and I like being held. I am not a huge snake, so people can easily hold me. I am super calm and enjoy indoor or outdoor programs as long as it isn't too cold.
